  3. Jess, it is totally possible! I just did my first 5K in early March. Nine months ago I had a pulmonary embolism that nearly killed me. I went from laying in a hospital bed to running a 5K. I have a lot of weight to lose, but you'd be surprised how fast your heart and lungs will respond to exercise and you can do it! Go girl! You can do it!-Allison from Woof

  4. You are brave. This is not something I would ever attempt... not a runner! I could do the elliptical 5K if there ever was such a thing!

  5. Matt and I did Couch to 5K two summers ago but never made it past the first week...hahaha. I know it's totally doable though!

    Some hints I remember:
I know IPOD had some podcasts that were for that program to help you time the run/walk parts.

Oh and also, everyone I know that runs says that if you are serious, then you should get fitted for the right running shoes, which can make a world of difference. A lot of people rec Fleet Feet in Pikesville..which I know is close to you!

Change up where you run...trails, tracks, neighborhoods, etc. so you don't get bored.

Sign up for a 5K now for a few months down the road as motivation.

I love walking at Honeygo Park if you ever want to come walking with us...it's a mile loop around, which you can do several times. Let me know if you ever want to go on your day off with the girls and their strollers! There is a playground there too!

  8. You are an inspiration! I did a 5k a million years ago when I was in highschool. It was a lot of fun! I wouldn't be able to make it 1/2k let alone a 5k right now...
