My lovely pond and NOT so lovely snakes...

YES! S.N.A.K.E.S!

When we built this pond, almost four years ago, I never knew the wildlife if would bring!!! N.E.V.E.R in my wildest dreams did I envision myself constantly screaming while gardening. Gardening is supposed to be a stress reliever, calming, a break from the to do list of life! Well, NOT by the pond that's for sure! This Spring I have encountered 4 snakes already.

Last night, at around 7 pm I came outside to water my plants and what did I find next to my hose.... OHHHH YES A HUGE DEAD SNAKE! I chose to cut the image off where it got nasty, and I MEAN N.A.S.T.Y! I screamed so loud the neighbors peeked out of their windows!!!! This mother of a snake was HUGE!

Anyhoo... I must have interrupted what killed it because when the hubs came home(9:45 pm) it was GONE. I swear it's like an episode of National Geographic right outside my front porch.

DO ANY of you all have a pond? If so... do you get lots of snakes?

  1. UGH! I shuttered just reading your post...snakes are my nemesis! Poisonous or not, just the thought gives me chills. No pond here, but we back to a small wood. Really hoping I don't cross paths with any this season!
