Delaney's Parisian Party Decor...

Croissants, pastries, tea sandwiches, a vintage Parisian Candy Shop... wow! Delaney is one lucky little lady and I just can't wait to see party pics.

After having Charlotte, we decided we would try our best to eat organically. When I say "try" our best, it means I will not be spending $12.99 on organic strawberries, but rather making an effort to support local farmers, and buy organic when possible. We felt food had changed, and I didnt want my child ingesting added hormones and chemicals!

In January, my resolution was to eat more from the Earth and less from the factory. I have also started paying more attention to what I am actually putting in my mouth, where it comes from, and how it's made. THANK GOD!

PLEASE watch Food Inc. This movie has launched a change in my life, a major change. I have been a blind purchaser, I have not looked beyond the packaging, BUT I am no longer blind.

In January 2008, the FDA approved the sale of meat and milk from cloned livestock, despite the fact that Congress voted twice in 2007 to delay FDA's decision on cloned animals until additional safety and economic studies could be completed.

Some of our most important staple foods have been fundamentally altered, and genetically engineered meat and produce have already invaded our grocery stores and our kitchen pantries.

Approximately 10 billion animals (chickens, cattle, hogs, ducks, turkeys, lambs and sheep) are raised and killed in the US annually. Nearly all of them are raised on factory farms under inhumane conditions. These industrial farms are also dangerous for their workers, pollute surrounding communities, are unsafe to our food system and contribute significantly to global warming.

Introducing Boulder...

Boulder is just a little over 6 years old. He was my first dog, a Boston Terrier. A spunky lil doggie, my heart dog! He has a fascination with squeeky balls, beer bottles(quirky I know), and the camera! God I love him!

Boulder recently went blind. He bumps into things, has lost a bit of his spunkyness, and is certainly a different dog- breaks my heart. He must get eye drops every day and needs surgery to correct this blindness. A crazy expensive surgery, a 3 THOUSAND dollar surgery.Brad and I had planned to get Boulder the surgery next month, using our tax return to do so. However, those plans have now changed due to series of frustrating events. I am having a hard time with this news.

I am posting because I feel really sad and sharing my feelings might help. Obviously this isn't PBD related, but this blog is more then just PBD, its also about the person who writes it.

Every time I look into his cloudy eyes my heart breaks a little more. I am hoping the summer brings the possibility of affording this surgery.

Finally...

I have finished reading My Sister's Keeper. My eyes are puffy, and I feel sad. The ending, I did not expect. I wonder if when authors write books they cry at the end as well? A truly amazing book, one that has made my favorites list for sure.

I previously shared a sneak peek of Charli's second birthday party with you many weeks ago! Charlotte is a Junebug filled with girly spunk! Snowed in Family Day...

Well, yet again Baltimore is being blanketed with snow... I mean L.O.T.S of snow! I think we had on average about 25 inches as of Sunday, and now an additional 10 plus inches! I LOVE IT! I know, nuts right? However, all this snow means more family time... the hubster home from work and warm cozy family dinners!

I would like to also add that I have been baking, eating, cooking, shoveling, baking, eating, cooking, shoveling! NOT GOOD for the waist line! Honestly though, what else is there to do when you are snowed in! PS... add cocktails by the fire to my list!
Charlotte and the doggies are LOVING all this snow! I am a little worried about the fishies in our pond though... don't think they are loving all the snow!
